Required PaperworkRequired Paperwork

Designers must provide us with clear instructions for wearing the garment.

Please click HERE for a Microsoft Word template that you may like to use.

Please remember:

  • Your paperwork is not shown to Judges - it is purely for our reference when unpacking and dressing your garment
  • Your inspiration, stories, materials, etc are taken from your online Entry Form B - we do not refer to your folder for this information
  • Currently we take multiple photocopies of your dressing instructions so we prefer that you send A4 pages, stapled or in a thin folder where pages can be removed easily for copying. Providing THREE copies of your paperwork would be very helpful
  • The copies are taken to Wellington and hung in 'Copysafe' / 'Clearfile' pockets with each garment

Below are pages from 2009 designer, Emma Whiteside, that are a great example of what we are looking for.

Components

 1. List of components in dressing order

If there is more than one garment, separate each garment for ease of dressing, eg Garment 1, Garment 2, Garment 3

 DressingInstr

 2. Step by step dressing instructions

Images and arrows are helpful to clarify your instructions

 Front

3. Full page photo of FRONT on a live model

We need a CLEAR full length photo to ensure we dress your garment correctly. Fancy 'editorial' photoshoots look great but don't help us to make sure your garment is worn correctly

 Back

 4. Full page photo of BACK on live model

It may also be useful to photograph the sides of the garment

 Notes

5. Additional notes

You may have additional notes regarding possible repairs, eg type of glue or paint to use, etc

You may also like to include photos of how you have packed your garment to make it easy for us to return it to you

 Inspiration

6. Inspiration Sheet - generated by WOW

The information that you type into Entry Form B is used for many purposes.

The short inspiration and materials are used in the Show Catalogue. We try not to alter this information but sometimes need to for space or clarity.

The long inspiration and stories are used by Heather Palmer at first Judging in Nelson. She reads selected information to the Judges to provide additional insight into your garment. We do NOT refer to your Dressing Instruction folder but use only what you have typed into Entry Form B

We also print your inspiration, materials and stories and keep a copy of this with your garment for the information of the Wardrobe team, dressers and models when dressing or repairing your garment (see image at left)

 GarmentSheet

7. Garment Sheet - generated by WOW

When we unpack your garment in Nelson, we itemise everything that you have included. This is then printed and stored with each garment (see image at left)
